A Bible study initially set up for alumni of the Senior Sunday School Class at the First United Methodist Church of Lufkin, Texas. Romans 8:5-8

Relax, Read and Reflect
Prayer- Lord, Open our hearts and open our minds and help us learn. Go-Fight-Win. Amen.
5Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6The mind of sinful man
is death, but the mind controlled by the Spirit is life and peace; 7the sinful mind[b] is hostile to God. It does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so. 8Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please God.
Paul groups the people of the world, all people, into two groups. One live according to their sinful nature, and the other lives at what the Spirit desires. The sinful man lives for death, the Spirit full man lives for life and peace.
What does this mean? It’s simple; those who live according to ful nature live for this world. What pleases them here. The reward of earth is- death. The Spirit filles person lives for something else- eternal life. Notice verse eight;
Enough said.
Prayer- Lord, Help us live as the Spirit leads us. Go-Fight-Win. Amen.
