A Bible study initially set up for alumni of the Senior Sunday School Class at the First United Methodist Church of Lufkin, Texas. Philippians 2:9-11

Relax, Read and Reflect
Prayer- Lord, Open our hearts and open our minds and help us learn. Go-Fight-Win. Amen.

Philippians 2:9-11 (New International Version)
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

This is still part of the humbleness of being a Christian. Yesterday we talked about being a servant, in the example of Christ. Today Paul sets Jesus in that glorious place. He is the one to be exalted. Wait! Didn’t we say we should all be servants yesterday but today we say Christ is above us?
No. Christ is great. If we aim to be like Christ-we will aim for greatness. Will we ever be Christ? No, but we can be a servant as he is and we can help praise His name and kingdom. We do this through humility, and the example of Christ.

Prayer- Lord, You are great and You are Lord. Help us lift up Your kingdom here on earth after the example of Your Son-Jesus. Go-Fight-Win. Amen
