Romans 3:27-31
Prayer- Lord, Open our hearts and open our minds and help us learn. Go-Fight-Win. Amen.
27Where, then, is boasting? It is excluded. On what principle? On that of observing the law? No, but on that of faith. 28For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. 29Is God the God of Jews only? Is he not the God of Gentiles too? Yes, of Gentiles too, 30since there is only one God, who will justify the circumcised by faith and the uncircumcised through that same faith. 31Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.
What saves us? Are we saved by our good deeds? Our we brought to God’s "good side" by keeping the church laws? NO, we are saved by faith. This makes Christianity different from other religions. We believe that we are saved not by anything we do, it’s all God!
Where is the pride in that? How can we boast to our friends and neighbors about the good things we do if they aren’t going to get us into heaven? If God does not care about the way we keep religious law, are we going to strap explosives on our bodies and blow people up in his-and our-honor? Hopefully not.
Our God is the real God, and is the God for all mankind. We are saved by this faith, and this faith alone. We use this faith to keep our laws, and to do good deeds. Not because they get us into heaven, but because we know God wants us to do them.
Prayer- Lord, keep our faith strong. Give us a job that we can do for your glory, not for your favor. Go-Fight-Win. Amen.
