Alumni Bible Study

A Bible study initially set up for alumni of the Senior Sunday School Class at the First United Methodist Church of Lufkin, Texas. It is our hope and our prayer that this study touches the hearts of those who participate and helps spread the love and grace of Our Lord and God. All who want to learn more about God are welcome

Matthew 5:25-26

Read, Relax and Reflect
Prayer- Lord, Open our hearts and open our minds and help us learn. Go-Fight-Win. Amen.
25"Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still with him on the way, or he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. 26I tell you the truth, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.[
Sometimes we forget that when people are taken to court by others, this is not a sign of love. Today we sue everyone so this seems a little trivial, this is a common practice. In Christ’s time you went to court to settle big things, and you played for keeps. This goes with anger that Christ taught in earlier verses. What we forget today is the same that people forgot then. Once we get to this stage, we have stopped trusting in God and started to trust in the law. Sometimes it works out, sometimes we loose-big!!!
If you want to live a happy life, don’t squabble with your neighbors, afterall, is it really worth it?
Prayer- Lord, help us get along. Go-Fight-Win. Amen.
Viva Jesus!
